Bahrain Shura Council keen to enhance US ties, exchange expertise

The Advisor to Shura Council Chairman, HE Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Dr. Fawzia Al Jeeb, affirmed the importance of enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain and the US relations and exchanging expertise.
This came as the Shura Council Secretariat General received a staff delegation from the US Senate and House of Representatives. The visit came as a part of enhancing cooperation between both countries’ legislative authorities and highlighting the council’s role in supporting the development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Dr. Al Jeeb conveyed the greeting of Al Saleh and Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Sura Council Secretary-General. She noted that the Secretariat General is keen to share its experience in supporting the legislative process.
The delegation was briefed on the history of legislative work in the kingdom and its quantum leap in issuing and enacting various legislation and laws. As well as the cooperation mechanism between the two councils and the government, in accordance with the constitution and regulating laws.
