Saudi veterinary group participates in Mara’ee 2023

The Saudi Veterinary Medical Association (SVMA) has participated in the sixth edition of the Bahrain Animal Production Show (Mara’ee 2023) by holding a series of educational and scientific lectures and workshops related to animal health and ways to deal with animals, in line with Mara’ee’s programmes and objectives.
His Excellency Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, commended SVMA’s participation in the show, praising the specialised scientific seminars presented by the lecturers to contribute to improving the concept of animal health.
The workshops held by the SVMA on the sidelines of Mara’ee 2023 aimed to promote the veterinary field, and enhance scientific research in the fields of veterinary medicine at the local and global levels, as well as consolidate the role of the veterinary medicine profession in serving society.
As to the lectures, they covered a wide range of topics related to animals. The first lecture, entitled “One Health and the Role of Veterinarians in Society”, was delivered by Dr. Salah bin Abdulaziz AlShami, SVMA President.
The second lecture, delivered by Mohammed Abddulmohsen Mohammed, behaviour and animal and poultry welfare professor, focused on animal rights and the existing legislation to protect them.
The third lecture, which focused on enhancing sustainability in animal production through the strategic use of feed additives, was presented by Shareef Mohammed Abdulrahim, professor of animal nutrition and malnutrition diseases.
