Bahrain revolutionise public entities with new national appointment system

In a groundbreaking move towards enhancing efficiency and service delivery, Bahrain has unveiled a new national appointment system for public entities.

The announcement came during the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communications’ recent meeting, presided over by His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Committee.

The esteemed gathering included key ministers and the CEO of the Information and e-Government Authority. HE General Shaikh Rashid commenced the meeting by acknowledging the unwavering support and attention of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for initiatives aimed at improving government performance and delivering optimal services.

The Minister emphasised that these advancements align with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. After endorsing the minutes of the previous meeting and reviewing the decisions issued, the committee delved into comprehensive discussions, including the latest developments in upgrading government websites.

As the Chairman of the Committee, the Minister of Interior stressed the significance of elevating government websites to international standards and best practices. Underscoring the importance of providing technical assistance for procedural clarity and data security, the Committee addressed the latest updates on the national appointment system.

It was unanimously agreed to initiate a pilot phase of the system in two entities, marking a pivotal step towards reducing bureaucratic burdens, streamlining procedures, and ensuring efficient service provision.

Electronic registration

The minister also shed light on the launch of the electronic death system and outlined plans for the imminent introduction of the national correspondence system. These initiatives aim to modernise and simplify processes, contributing to a more streamlined and citizen-centric government approach.

In his closing remarks, HE General Shaikh Rashid expressed gratitude to the committee members for their steadfast commitment to communication and coordination. He underscored their collective efforts to advance government services, ultimately benefiting all citizens and residents.

The unveiling of the national appointment system stands as a testament to Bahrain’s commitment to technological innovation and administrative excellence.
