LMRA briefs US Congress delegation on Bahrain’s labour market reforms

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) officials extensively discussed Bahrain’s commendable efforts in enhancing the labour market and implementing modernised procedures and mechanisms to ensure utmost justice and stability in the work environment.
Additionally, the Kingdom’s endeavours in combating trafficking in persons were thoroughly reviewed. This came as the LMRA officials welcomed a delegation of employees from the US Congress.
The delegation engaged with several officials from the LMRA, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The visitors received a comprehensive briefing on the functions and responsibilities of the centre, which stands as the Middle East’s first specialised institution dedicated to offering a wide range of preventive, counseling, legal services, and shelter to victims and potential victims of trafficking.

This centre serves as a vital platform for certifying trainers who equip frontline practitioners and workers across various organisations with the necessary skills to identify and address victims or potential victims of trafficking effectively.
