Bahrain provides opportunities and investment facilities to support the transition towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution, apply the concepts of the circular carbon economy, and achieve industrial integration to enhance the efficiency of supply chains.

This was emphasised by Dr. Khaled Fahad Al Alawi, Assistant Undersecretary of Industrial Development at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, as he participated in the 7th International Innovative & Entrepreneurial Competition Conference Shenzhen in China.

Dr. Al Alawi highlighted the targeted strategic industries, especially those that correspond with advanced and sustainable manufacturing attributes in China; such as smart industry, the semiconductor and microelectronics industry, and renewable energy industries.

Promising opportunities

The conference was focused on the theme of new and promising opportunities in the Middle East and was held on November 23-25.

It was organised by United Nations Industrial Development Organization Office in Bahrain and the International Youth Foundation in partnership with the Union of Arab Chambers and the Annual Investment Meeting. HE Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, was present.

Dr. Al Alawi reviewed Bahrain’s efforts in promoting a diversified and sustainable industrial base and efforts made to achieve the objectives of the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022-2026). The strategy was launched as part of the economic recovery plan and aims to increase the industrial sector’s contribution to the GDP, increase locally originated exports, and provide more opportunities for citizens.
