The Indian Embassy has organised an Open House, chaired by the Ambassador, H.E. Vinod Kurian Jacob. The Embassy’s consular team and panel of lawyers were also present. Indian nationals participated in the event conducted in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam.

The Ambassador expressed delight in the resolution of most of the issues raised at the last Open House and conveyed his gratitude to the local authorities for their prompt support and cooperation.

He also thanked the Indian community and organisations for their assistance in resolving a number of consular and labour matters. The Embassy continues to help distressed Indian nationals, including housemaids, by providing boarding and accommodation, as well as granting Emergency Certificates and tickets to needy Indian nationals through the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF).

The grievances and issues of the Indian community were addressed; some were resolved at the open house, while others will be taken up at the earliest possible time. Ambassador Jacob thanked all the Indian associations and community members for their participation in the open house.
