The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has announced the successful implementation of 1,496 campaigns and inspection visits from November 26 to December 2, 2023.
These efforts have led to the arrest of 121 violating and irregular workers, with 115 deportations taking place during this period. The campaigns and inspection visits have also revealed several violations related to the regulations outlined in the LMRA Law and the Residence Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Consequently, legal measures have been taken to address these observed violations. In total, the LMRA conducted 1,474 inspection visits across various commercial stores in all governorates. Additionally, 22 joint inspection campaigns were carried out, including eight campaigns in the Capital Governorate, three campaigns in the Muharraq Governorate, seven campaigns in the Northern Governorate, and four campaigns in the Southern Governorate.
Multiple government agencies collaborated in these efforts, including the Ministry of Interior’s Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, the General Administration of Criminal Investigations and Evidence, the General Administration for Implementation of Judgments, and the security directorates in the governorates. The Ministry of Labor also played an active role in these campaigns.
