‘Let’s fight cyber attacks’

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, H.E. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, inaugurated yesterday the second Arab International Cybersecurity Conference and Exhibition (AICS 2023).

The event, being held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, represented a global platform to exchange expertise and reinforce cybersecurity cooperation and awareness to promote cyberspace security protection efforts.

The Interior Minister delivered a speech in which he emphasised the government’s commitment to digital sustainability and data protection, highlighting the need for a comprehensive solution to cyberattacks.

Royal vision

“Bahrain hosts the Second Arab International Cybersecurity Conference and Exhibition based on the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for shifting digital systems in providing services within an integrated plan that is implemented per international standards to reinforce cybersecurity,” General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah said.

“I’m honoured to convey the greeting of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the patron of the conference, and HRH’s wishes for the event to achieve its goals.”

He called for collective efforts from government institutions, private companies, and individuals to achieve cybersecurity and protect digital information and data. The speech concluded with gratitude to the speakers, participants, and organisers of the conference, expressing hope for enhanced digital security and a safer future in the world of the Internet.

Cybersecurity solutions

The two-day event reviews advanced cybersecurity solutions through discussion sessions and training workshops.
