Raffles debuts in Bahrain with ambitious Areen master plan unveiled

Amidst a gathering of dignitaries, government officials, and industry leaders, GFH Financial Group made a momentous announcement yesterday, revealing the inauguration of the highly anticipated Raffles Hotels and Resort and the unveiling of the revamped masterplan for its ambitious Areen project.

The ceremony, held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and the President of the Supreme Council for Environment, marked a significant milestone in the development of the project.

Attended by a distinguished audience, including senior government representatives, GFH management, and subsidiary Al Areen Holding Company, alongside strategic partners and media, the event provided a platform for the comprehensive disclosure of Areen’s developmental plans.

The project, strategically located near Al Areen Wildlife Park and Reserve in the southern region, aims to emerge as a premier high-end destination encompassing living spaces, hospitality, entertainment, and commerce. Covering an expansive 2 million square meters of land and boasting 1.5 million square meters of built-up area, the Areen master plan envisions accommodating approximately 25,000 people.

Comprising 16 major clusters, the development integrates commercial offices, retail units, restaurants, hotels, health and education facilities, and diverse residential communities. In a nod to contemporary trends, the masterplan has been enhanced to embrace new health and wellness concepts, featuring walkable shopping streets. 

The hotel, designed to Raffles’ exacting standards, promises to be a pinnacle of opulence, capturing Arabian charm and world-class sophistication over 131,213 sqm. With 78 villas and 120 rooms, each boasting private pools and gardens, the hotel offers a sublime experience.

It also features five food and beverage outlets, a rooftop restaurant, and an award-winning spa, ensuring unparalleled relaxation for its guests.
