End-of-service gratuity system for non-Bahrainis in civil societies

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday issued Edict (109) of 2023, promulgating the end-of-service gratuity system for non-Bahrainis working in civil societies, based on a proposal by the Minister of Finance and National Economy, and following the approval of the Cabinet.

The Edict stipulates the following:

Article (I): The end-of-service gratuity system for non-Bahrainis working in civil societies, attached to this edict, shall be put into effect.

Article (II): Employers are required to submit data on the wages of their insured workers to the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) within one month after the publication of this edict in the Official Gazette. If employers fail to submit their data within the specified period, contributions will be calculated on the basis of the monthly wage subject to payment to the employment injuries branch.

Article (III): The Minister of Finance and National Economy shall, based on the agreement of the Board of Directors of the Social Insurance Organisation, issue the edicts necessary for the implementation of the system attached to this edict.

Article (IV): The Minister of Finance and National Economy, and those concerned – each in their capacity, shall implement the provisions of this edict, which will come into effect from March 1, 2024, and be published in the Official Gazette.

New SCE director

His Royal Highness issued Edict (110) of 2023, appointing a director at the executive body of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), based on a proposal by the Chairman of the SCE.

The edict stipulates the following:

Article (I): Sarah Anees Mohammed Al Rowaiei was appointed as the Director of the Human and Financial Resources Directorate at the SCE.

Article (II): The Chairman of the SCE shall implement the provisions of this edict, which comes into effect upon its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.

New UPDA director

HRH Prince Salman issued Edict (112) of 2023, appointing a director at the Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA), based on a proposal by the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.

The edict stipulates the following:

Article (I): Abdulla Ahmed Ali Al Jowdar shall be appointed as the Director of the Urban Development Directorate at the UPDA.

Article (II): The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning shall implement the provisions of this edict, which takes immediate effect, and will be published in the Official Gazette.

New Ministry director

HRH Prince Salman issued Edict (111) of 2023, appointing a director at the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, based on a proposal by the Minister of Shura and Representatives Councils Affairs. Nayef Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Fadhel shall be appointed as the Director of the Human and Financial Resources Directorate at the ministry.
