The Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of its national days, the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne, and the accompanying national events were featured by Google, the popular internet search engine, in an animated doodle.
On visiting the website, the kingdom’s flag is seen hoisted against the backdrop of a blue sky. An animated display of fireworks in the colour of the fluttering flag appears when users click on the doodle. A page showing results on the national day of Bahrain also appears when the doodle is clicked. A tab at the top of the page contains a brief on the occasion.
"The Kingdom of Bahrain bubbles with excitement on National Day as people celebrate the country's achievements," it says. It mentioned that Bahraini culture and history date back to prehistoric times.
On the celebrations marking the occasion, the brief says: "Entertainers of all kinds put on performances, and citizens attend laser light displays, magic shows, and contests. Bahrainis also mark the event with cultural displays including art, language, and musical performances like Fjiri, which commemorates the nation’s pearling legacy."
"The colours of Bahrain’s flag, as shown in today’s Doodle, can be seen across the country. Red and white lights shine onto landmarks like the Riffa Clock Tower, and hanging lights twinkle from buildings and trees. The night ends with fireworks bursting in the sky, but don’t worry, the festivities will continue tomorrow! Happy National Day, Bahrain."
