His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday marked Bahrain’s celebrations of National Days with a call to the international community to take concrete steps towards establishing peace in Gaza.

HM King affirmed that the brotherly Palestinian people, like all other people, “deserve their full rights for the establishment of their independent and fully sovereign State, with Jerusalem as its capital.” Israel's retaliatory offensive, prompted by an attack from Hamas in the Gaza Strip on October 7 that resulted in the deaths of 1,139 people, has reportedly led to a total of 18,800 casualties, with a significant number being women and children, as stated by the territory's Hamas government.

Additionally, the US-based Committee to Protect Journalists reported that at least 64 journalists and media staff have lost their lives in the Israel-Hamas conflict. His Majesty delivered the message in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at the Al-Sakhir Palace. On the occasion, HM King Hamad prayed to bring Bahrain’s united family continued prosperity and harmony that ensure progress with each passing generation and a better and brighter future.

HM said the celebrations evoke in us “renewed joy and a deep sense of responsibility," replete with confidence in the country’s continuous development and pride in Bahrain’s journey. Expressing pride and appreciation to the pioneers of National Action, HM said they have followed the path of our founding pioneers, the builders of this remarkable nation, whose glory and success began more than two centuries ago.

Bahrain, HM said, reaps the outcome of what they sowed, urging all to continue the journey with the same determination and steadfastness to achieve further growth and prosperity. Then, HM the King conferred medals on national action pioneers.

Nayla Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Sayed delivered a statement on behalf of the honorees, expressing pride in HM King’s patronage of the celebrations and for honouring national work pioneers. She asserted that the annual royal honouring of the distinguished national action pioneers is an impetus for them to be more dedicated to serving the nation and raising its flags at all international gatherings.
