In a bid to curb reckless driving and maintain public order, the General Traffic Department has seized and impounded a number of violating vehicles for a month.
This action comes after the drivers of these vehicles paraded and created annoying noises in various areas, causing inconvenience, disrupting public peace, and posing a threat to lives. Legal procedures are currently underway against the violators to ensure accountability.
Bahrain has been grappling with a surge in accidents, particularly during National Day, primarily attributed to aggressive driving, speeding, and a general disregard for basic traffic laws.
To address this pressing issue, authorities have taken a firm stance against those who put the lives of others at risk through their reckless behaviour. A recent study has revealed that accidents are evenly distributed across the various days of the week, irrespective of differences in driving mileage and the number of trips undertaken.
Approach
This finding underscores the need for a comprehensive approach to road safety, focusing on improving driver behaviour, enforcing traffic regulations, and promoting responsible driving habits.
The General Traffic Department remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all road users. By taking decisive action against violating drivers and impounding their vehicles, they aim to promote a culture of respect for traffic laws and foster an environment of enhanced public safety.
