Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, is all set to welcome fans with various interests for back-to-back days of festive fun and excitement.
Speed enthusiasts can get their taste of motor racing adrenaline with Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night taking place tonight along the circuit’s world-class quarter-mile drag strip. That will be followed tomorrow morning by an enjoyable, Christmas-themed physical activity with the Batelco Fitness on Track: Festive Special.
This offers the chance for a unique workout while getting into the spirit of the season as participants are invited to come dressed up in their favourite Christmas gear and share in the joys of the season.
The Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night tomorrow is scheduled for 7pm to 12am. Participants will be able to bring their very own cars or motorbikes and go one-on-one down the BIC strip, which is a member of the prestigious NHRA Worldwide Network of the U.S.-based National Hot Rod Association (NHRA).
Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night is similar to BIC’s Ebrahim K Kanoo Drag and Drift Nights, with the only difference at the start, which is done with a rolling speed of 80kph. The activity offers the perfect opportunity to invite a fellow-motorsport aficionado for a thrilling and competitive—but friendly—challenge, where both can push their vehicles to the limit within the safe and controlled environment at BIC.
The cost to participate is BD22 for each driver or rider. Spectators can watch from the side lines for a nominal entry fee of BD2. In addition to the rolling drag, also available tomorrow evening is BIC’s most mind-boggling passenger ride in the Dragster Experience.
Known as “the Fastest Ride on Earth”, fans will have a chance to get a taste of pure speed as they are taken from zero to 100kph in just one second while in the cockpit of a 10,500cc Top Dragster.
The Dragster Experience is available at BD44 for the first passenger while a second passenger can get 50 per cent off. Meanwhile, the roar of engines will quiet down tomorrow morning but the fan-engagement and excitement will stay at a high.
Batelco Fitness on Track: Festive Special can be enjoyed by the whole family or groups of friends together, or even by individual participants. Taking place between 6am and 10am, it will offer a fresh start to the weekend and the workout can be done either on foot or on a bicycle within BIC’s top-class and secure setting.
All this while also getting in on some fun of the festive season, as BIC encourages participants to come in Christmas-themed attire for additional cheer. Runners and walkers will be utilising BIC’s 2.550-kilometre Inner Circuit, while cyclists will get to ride their bikes along the 3.543-kilometre Outer Circuit, with another dedicated area for children’s cycling.
The cost to take part is BD2 for cyclists and BD1 for runners. Payment must be made upon booking. Children under the age of 12 can participate for free if accompanied by a paying adult. BIC’s Batelco Fitness on Track Season Pass is still also available. At just BD15, it is ideal for regular participants as it grants access to all Batelco Fitness on Track events throughout the season.
