Bahraini Farmers’ Market to open tomorrow

The 11th edition of the Bahraini Farmers’ Market will open on Saturday at the Budaiya Botanical Garden, bringing together Bahraini farmers, brands, and craftsmen.

The theme for this year is "Champions of local products," which is a reflection of the pride in Bahraini farmers' dedication to providing sustainable, diverse, and high-quality local products.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture and the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) held an introductory meeting with all farmers' market participants, with the organisers present, to give them a briefing about the market and distribute guidelines to enhance the overall experience.

Khalid Ahmed Hassan, Undersecretary for Agriculture and Marine Resources, affirmed the importance of the 11th Bahraini Farmers' Market, supported by STC Bahrain, as it will come with upgraded infrastructure and more sections, creating a enjoyable experience for visitors.

He said that the Bahraini Farmers' Market is important for supporting local products and enhancing food security.

The undersecretary emphasised that the ministry continues to achieve the goals outlined in the National Food Security Strategy through several initiatives, including the Bahraini Farmers' Market.

Mohammed Mirza Al Oraibi, assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs and Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Bahraini Farmers’ Market, highlighted the efforts made to display products innovatively while using materials reflecting local agricultural identity.
