Bahrain welcomes UN resolution for urgent aid to Gaza

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the UN Security Council Resolution, which calls for urgent measures to facilitate the immediate and expanded delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in a safe and unimpeded manner.

The statement also expressed approval of the appointment of the United Nations Secretary-General as a senior coordinator for humanitarian and reconstruction affairs, aiming to accelerate the dispatch of humanitarian relief shipments to Gaza.

The resolution urges conflicting parties to adhere to international law obligations, particularly in safeguarding civilians and civilian infrastructure.

It strongly condemns the forced displacement of the civilian population, including children. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude for the diplomatic efforts of the United Arab Emirates, an Arab member of the Security Council, commending its initiative to propose the draft resolution, ultimately leading to its adoption.

This is seen as a significant stride toward achieving a lasting ceasefire, safeguarding civilians, and establishing a secure environment to address the essential humanitarian needs of the population.
