The market continues to run every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. until next March, offering residents and visitors alike a chance to experience the bounty of Bahrain and connect with the heart of its community.

Marketing and tourism

HE Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister, emphasized that the event not only serves as a marketing platform for Bahraini products and the food manufacturing industry but also stands out as an entertainment and tourist season for citizens and residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, NIAD Secretary-General, highlighted the market’s significance as it draws thousands of visitors from Bahrain and beyond to the iconic Budaiya Botanical Garden.

Ali bin Al Shaikh Abdulhussein Al Asfoor, Northern Governor, commended the efforts invested in organizing the 11th edition of the Market, recognizing its role in promoting economic, tourist, and recreational activities, particularly its positive impact on the agricultural sector. Dr. Khalid Ahmed Hassan, Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Undersecretary for Agriculture and Marine Resources, said that the market is a significant platform for farmers and specialists to market their products, with the ministry aiming to attract thousands of visitors annually.

Diverse agricultural, culinary delights

Thirty-three Bahraini farmers, along with four agricultural companies, four nurseries, 15 small projects, two shops, and two apiaries, are actively participating in the 11th edition of the market at the Budaiya Botanical Garden. Mohammed Mirza Al Oraibi, Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Bahraini Farmers’ Market, unveiled this diverse lineup.

This year’s restaurant corner boasts the presence of 16 Bahraini restaurants and cafés, ensuring a rich tapestry of tastes and flavours for visitors. With designated picnic areas in the botanical garden, the market promises an immersive experience, featuring unique cafes and a diverse array of popular Bahraini cuisine options, he added.

The organising committee has crafted numerous programmes and events for the annual gathering, aimed at both encouraging farmers and providing entertaining experiences for visitors from Bahrain and beyond.
