Bahrain India Society honours Karnataka Speaker UT Khader

U.T. Khader, the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in India, was honoured by the Bahrain India Society on Thursday at a ceremony held at The Diplomat Radisson Hotel.

The ceremony, attended by Chief Guest Vinod K Jacob, Indian Ambassador, members of the Bahrain India Society, key figures from government bodies, private sectors, and respected businessmen, showcased a momentous occasion.

Mohammad Mansoor, a Board Member of the Bahrain India Society and a native of the same hometown as U.T. Khader, eloquently highlighted the Speaker's remarkable journey. From his days as a Student Union leader to managing pivotal portfolios, including Health, Education, and Urban Development, Shri Khader's impactful trajectory has significantly contributed to societal betterment.

Abdulrahman Juma, President of the Bahrain India Society, warmly welcomed the Speaker, expressing gratitude to the House of Representatives, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and distinguished guests from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Juma emphasised Bahrain's business-friendly environment, citing financial incentives like the Tamkeen programme that makes the country an attractive hub for international investments. He urged Speaker Khader to support investment promotion in Bahrain.

Vinod Jacob, the Indian Ambassador, shared valuable insights into India's achievements, highlighting the substantial economic contributions of Indian tourists and citizens in Bahrain. He emphasised Bahrain's status as a prime investment destination. In response, U.T. Khader acknowledged the contributions of NRIs in Bahrain toward India's development.

He pledged unwavering support to the visions of Bahrain and Karnataka, aiming to serve as a bridge for cultural, bilateral, and economic development between the two nations. The Speaker extended an invitation for a high-level meeting between the Bahrain-India Society and the government of Karnataka, expressing his commitment to arrange for Bahraini delegates to witness the assembly proceedings in Karnataka.
