Bahrain Labour Ministry honours excellence at 38th Annual Awards ceremony

The Bahrain Labour Ministry hosted its 38th annual ceremony yesterday, dedicated to honouring exemplary employees and distinguished establishments in the private sector, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

This prestigious event acknowledged outstanding national talents, including human resources officials, business leaders, and noteworthy establishments from various economic sectors in the kingdom's labour market.

The ceremony drew the participation of ministers, council members, Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, and Sameer Abdulla Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside representatives from federations, trade unions, and key figures in commercial, economic, and social domains.

Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, the Minister of Labour, addressed the ceremony, emphasizing its purpose to spotlight and honour distinguished national competencies. The aim is to create more opportunities, elevate employment rates for graduates, and enhance their educational and training experiences.

Minister Humaidan also commended the ongoing cooperation among the government, employers, and employees, highlighting their joint efforts to transform challenges into opportunities and strengthen the principles of social dialogue.

Referring to recently launched programmes, particularly those by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), targeting 50,000 Bahrainis annually, he underscored their role in increasing employment and career development opportunities in the private sector.

Shaima Sayed Baqer Hassan spoke on behalf of the honourees, expressed gratitude for His Majesty King Hamad's constant support for the national workforce and institutions in nation-building.

The ceremony concluded with Minister Humaidan and Shaikh Khalifa presenting appreciation certificates and commemorative shields to outstanding individuals and establishments.

The honourees included pioneers, institutions collaborating with the Labour Ministry in attracting and employing nationals, establishments training job-seekers under the "Foras" (Opportunities) Programme, institutes ensuring the training and employment of job seekers, small enterprise owners, distinguished directors, supporters of people of determination, workers in the non-organized economy, and professionals in sectors such as oil and gas, manufacturing, transportation, telecommunications, banking, finance, insurance, contracting, trade, tourism, and emerging social activities.
