The Autumn Fair bids farewell today, offering a lastditch chance to plunder a treasure trove of exotic goodies from around the world.

From exquisite Egyptian jalabiyas and intricate Bahraini textiles to mouthwatering Iranian spices and dazzling Turkish jewellery, the fair is a kaleidoscope of cultures under one roof. But hurry, some vendors are reporting slower sales than usual, giving you the perfect opportunity to score amazing deals!

Akhtar Mir, an Indian garment artisan, is offering tempting discounts on his handwoven scarves and clothing.

“The holiday season has made things a bit quiet,” he admits, “but I’m hopeful for a last-minute rush!” Vahid Moayyeri, however, is painting a different picture. This Iranian food vendor, a 10-year fair veteran, is beaming with pride.

“My family and I are thrilled to share our culinary heritage with Bahrain,” he says, his stand buzzing with happy customers. Even Mohammed Deldagen, the Egyptian jalabiya maestro, remains upbeat despite sales not quite matching last year’s record.

“Maybe people are holding onto their wallets until salaries come out,” he muses, “but the joy of being here is priceless.” For Kamlesh Kataria, who runs a shop in Bab Al Bahrain, he said: “The Autumn Fair is an annual tradition for me, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world!”
