Around 50 Indian nationals took part in the Indian Embassy’s last open house of the year, held yesterday and chaired by Indian Ambassador Vinod K Jacob. The embassy’s consular team and panel of lawyers were also present, as those who attended took part in the grievance redressal process.
The Indian Ambassador thanked the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) for organising a valuable interactive session earlier this month, in connection with labour and social affairs. The community members present in the open house were briefed on the LMRA guidelines.
The ambassador thanked Bahrain government authorities, including the Ministry of Labour, LMRA and immigration officials for their prompt support and action concerning consular and community welfare matters. He also appreciated the commitment and dedication of Indian community organisations and volunteers in helping the distressed members of Indian diaspora throughout the year.
The mission continues to help distressed Indian nationals including housemaids by providing boarding and accommodation, as well as granting emergency certificates and tickets to persons in need through the Indian Community Welfare Fund.
The grievances/issues of the Indian nationals were successfully addressed, with some being resolved at the open house and others to be taken up at the earliest possible time. Ambassador Jacob thanked all the Indian associations and community members for their active participation in the open gathering.
