Eighteen new schools and 24 new academic buildings will be constructed as part of the Ministry of Education’s plan to deal with educational infrastructure in all of Bahrain’s governorates.

This was announced yesterday by Education Minister Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma.

The Education Minister noted that the Northern Governorate will receive the majority of the new schools and educational buildings.

He also highlighted the sustainable maintenance programme, which involves regular maintenance of each school every four years, covering all schools in Bahrain.

This came during the minister’s response to parliamentary members interventions in the general discussion held on Tuesday regarding services and government projects in the Northern Governorate.

The minister stated that there is a plan to build several schools in Salman City, Al Jasra, Al Hamala, Al Lawzi, and Al Duraz.

He also mentioned the schools that have been opened in the Northern Governorate, including the Al Mithaq School for Boys and the Al Malikiya School for Girls.
