HM King Hamad hails growing Bahrain-Pakistan ties

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, expressed pride in the steadily-growing deep-rooted Bahrain-Pakistan friendship relations, praising the advanced level reached by the two countries’ cooperation in the defence and military fields.

HM the King asserted that Bahrain is looking forward to expanding its cooperation with Pakistan to achieve common interests, stressing that such visits reflect the two countries’ shared keenness to enhance their coordination to serve their common goals.

The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces was speaking as he received yesterday at Al Safriya Palace, General Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, who is on a visit to Bahrain to attend the closing ceremony of the anti-terror drill, carried out by the Special Operations Unit at the National Guard.

HM the King welcomed Gen. Munir, who conveyed to HM greetings from the Pakistani President, Dr. Arif Alvi, and Prime Minister, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, as well as their wishes for further progress and prosperity to Bahrain.

His Majesty requested the Pakistani Army Chief to convey his greetings to the Pakistani President and Prime Minister, as well as his wishes for further progress and prosperity to the people of Pakistan.

Region’s security and stability

HM King Hamad praised Pakistan’s constant honourable stances, commending the role it is playing in safeguarding the region’s security and stability.

He also lauded the contributions of the Pakistani expatriate community to the kingdom’s comprehensive development process. HM the King conferred the Order of Bahrain-First Class on Gen. Munir, in recognition of his efforts to consolidate his country’s military and defence cooperation with Bahrain.

Order of Bahrain-First Class

The Pakistani Army Chief expressed thanks and gratitude to HM the King for conferring the Order of Bahrain-First Class on him, lauding the major role played by His Majesty in developing Bahraini-Pakistani relations, especially in the defence and military fields.

He stressed constant keenness to strengthen cooperation with Bahrain to serve the two countries’ interests and meet their peoples’ aspirations. On the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the National Guard, HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, hailed the pivotal roles it is playing in defending the kingdom’s sovereignty, security, stability and gains, along with the Bahrain Defence Forces and the Public Security Forces.

HM the King paid tribute to General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the National Guard Commander, and all the force’s affiliates, for their patriotic efforts.
