Bahrain committed to enhancing Pakistan relations: HRH Prince Salman

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, highlighted the strength of the Bahrain-Pakistan relations, affirming the importance of continuing to consolidate them to benefit both countries and their peoples.

This came as HRH Prince Salman yesterday received the Chief of Army Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Asim Munir, at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting was part of General Munir’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to attend the closing ceremony of the counter-terrorism exercise organised by the National Guard’s Special Operations Unit.

His Royal Highness welcomed General Munir to the Kingdom and noted Pakistan’s vital role, along with other allies, in safeguarding peace and security in the region. General Munir conveyed the greetings of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, HE Dr. Arif Alvi, and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, HE Anwaar-ulHaq Kakar, to His Royal Highness, as well as well wishes for further progress and prosperity in the Kingdom.

In return, His Royal Highness conveyed his greetings and well wishes to the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan and its people. General Munir expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness for HRH’s commitment to furthering Bahrain-Pakistan relations, particularly in the military and defence cooperation, and wished the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the BDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Theyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, also attended the meeting.
