The Indian Embassy organised the “India in Bahrain Festival,” an event that brought together the vibrant Indian diaspora in Bahrain to celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of India on January 12 at the embassy premises in Seef.

The festival was a showcase of India’s diverse cultural heritage, attracting more than 500 members of the Indian community in Bahrain. The event, held as part of the Promotion of Cultural Ties with Diaspora initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, served as a platform for the community to share and appreciate the cultural wealth of different regions and communities in India.

Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardees residing in Bahrain were guests of honour. The festival featured an array of stalls that highlighted India’s culinary heritage and handicrafts put up by more than 30 Indian community associations.

Attendees had the chance to indulge in the flavours of India through a diverse range of traditional dishes and explore the intricate craftsmanship of Indian artisans. 12 cultural performances by members of the Indian community showcased classical and folk performances from different traditions of India.

The event also saw the presentation of a collection of poems titled Headstrings by Kaashvi Subin Jagdish, an Indian student studying in Bahrain. A special ICRF bulletin was also released during the event.
