No room for delay!
Taking up the cudgels for investors, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa tasked the Ministerial Committee for Financial Affairs and Rationalising Expenditure to discuss with the Ministries and departments reasons for delaying responses to investors’ requests. HRH Premier also told to discuss the possibility of considering the licence of the investment project accepted if the concerned side does not reply within a specific period of time.
In a meeting with businessmen and investors during his visit to Bahrain Investors’ Centre (BIC) here yesterday, Prince Khalifa was briefed on the problems faced by investors and businessmen.
Deputy Premiers, Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani and Chairman of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Khalid Almoayed were also present. HRH Premier instructed Minister Al Zayani to revise the current electronic system that examines the licences of investment projects to avoid the detected flaws and rectify them in cooperation with the Informatics and e-Government authority immediately.
Prince Khalifa asserted that the government would go ahead with the speedy issuance of licences for investors. “The government has set up departments and agencies to facilitate procedures for investors, not to complicate them,” HRH Premier added.
