Bahrain Cabinet congratulates BDF on 56 years of valour

The Cabinet congratulated the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) on the 56th anniversary of its establishment, noting its development and readiness under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

On the significant occasion, which falls on February 5 of each year, the Cabinet extended its sincere congratulations to HM the King and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister.

The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting, and approved among others a memorandum submitted by the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) on the restructuring of several ministries and government agencies with the aim of improving performance and efficiency.

The Deputy Prime Minister, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. Arab meeting preparation The Cabinet monitored the ongoing preparations for the 33rd Regular Session of the Arab League Council at the Summit Level, which will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

It wished HM King Hamad and Their Majesties and Their Excellencies, the leaders of the Arab countries participating in the summit, success in finding ways to enhance joint Arab efforts. Five-star rating The Cabinet welcomed Bahrain International Airport and its Pearl Lounge, receiving a five-star rating from Skytrax, for the third consecutive year.

The Cabinet affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to continue developing its airport services and capabilities. To mark National Environment Day, observed annually on 4 February, the Cabinet affirmed the continuation of adopting initiatives that support environmental security and enhance community partnership in achieving the Kingdom’s environmental goals.

The Cabinet condemned, in the strongest terms, the terrorist attack that took place near the Jordanian-Syrian borders, killing three and injuring several others from the US troops cooperating with the Jordanian Armed Forces in combating terrorism and the cross-border smuggling of weapons and drugs.

The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom’s firm solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its support for its ongoing anti-terror efforts. The Cabinet discussed and approved a memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance regarding the implementation of a number of projects in cooperation with the private sector.
