What was supposed to be a picture-perfect fairytale wedding turned into a social media nightmare for a Bahraini couple. They are now suing their wedding planner for BD5,000 after their dream day was allegedly hijacked by a social media influencer.

The Bahrain High Civil Court is currently hearing the case, where the heartbroken newlyweds claim the planning company prioritized a social media darling's party over their own, using the same designs and arrangements chosen by the couple—without their knowledge or consent.

This shocking discovery, made through social media posts, shattered the trust they had placed in the planner. Adding insult to injury, the lawyer representing the couple revealed a litany of contractual breaches.

From mismatched stage backdrops and floral arrangements dyed in pungent hues mere hours before the ceremony to uneven flooring and shoddy lighting, the execution of the wedding fell woefully short of expectations. The pièce de résistance? A narrow entrance prevented the couple from making their grand entrance together, symbolizing a love story derailed.

“They paid a substantial sum for a once-in-a-lifetime event, only to have their dream day turn into a chaotic mess,” the lawyer passionately argued, presenting the court with photos, videos, and the contract itself as stark evidence of the company’s negligence.

Seeking both material and moral compensation for the emotional distress and reputational damage they suffered, the couple is demanding BD5,000 in recompense. Whether the court rules in their favour remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: for this Bahraini couple, the quest for a picture-perfect wedding has become a fight for justice.
