Derasat director concludes successful visit to Japan

Dr. Omar Ahmad Al-Ubaydli, Director of the Studies and Research Directorate at the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), completed a fruitful visit to Japan during the month of January.
During his visit, Dr. Al-Ubaydli engaged with numerous prominent think tanks, research centers, and official organizations, strengthening international partnerships and expanding Derasat Center’s global knowledge network.
At the Canon Institute for Global Studies, Dr. Al-Ubaydli met with Dr. Kayoko Tatsumi to discuss cooperation in research specializations such as the economy, international relations, and security, paving the way for future collaboration between Derasat Center and Canon Institute.
During the visit to the Mitsubishi Research Institute, Mr. Koichi Nakagawa and Dr. Al-Ubaydli explored mutual interests in economic development, business opportunities, and regional dynamics in the Middle East.
The meeting fostered knowledge sharing and deeper understanding between Derasat Center and the Mitsubishi Research Institute. The visit to the Foreign Press Center Japan provided an excellent platform for Dr. Al-Ubaydli to showcase Derasat Center’s activities and events to H.E. Ambassador Mr. Kazuo Kodama, the President of the Japanese Center, and other officials.
Furthermore, he engaged with the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, discussing regional dynamics in Asia and the Middle East and exploring potential areas of research collaboration. These exchanges contributed to a deeper understanding of the political and economic landscape in both regions.
Meetings with the Middle East Institute of Japan focused on the Middle East’s geopolitical situation, economic developments, and cultural ties between Japan and the region. These engagements laid the groundwork for potential future partnerships between Derasat Center and the Middle East Institute of Japan.
Dr. Al-Ubaydli’s also visited the Institute of Energy Economics specializing in energy-related topics, including sustainable development, energy security, and the role of renewable energy sources. The exchange of expertise contributed to a comprehensive understanding of the energy landscape in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Japan.
