Two-day eco-friendly ‘Green South’ event at Southern Governorate

His Highness Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa inaugurated the two-day Green South event organised by the governorate in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior’s Human Resources Directorate, at the Heritage Village.
HH the Southern Governor stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pioneering interest in environmental and sustainable development comes under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He commended the keenness and interest of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of the Advisory Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, in supporting various environmental and agricultural initiatives and her prominent role in sustaining outstanding projects that contribute to increasing the sustainability of the country’s agricultural sector.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa emphasised that the governorate is eager to organise environmental initiatives in cooperation and coordination with government bodies and NGOs, to promote community partnerships and support the governorate’s objectives in serving the community by consolidating community values and instilling environmental and sustainable concepts among citizens.
