The cultural activity “From the Post” is making a comeback at the Manama Post Office as part of the 18th Spring of Culture Festival. Transforming into a hub for diverse events every Saturday throughout February, this unique experience blends culture and history.
In collaboration with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) and in coordination with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), the activity aims to deepen the public’s connection with Manama’s rich culture and heritage.
It encourages exploration of the ancient city, shedding light on its history, markets, ancient villages, arts, and architecture. Each Saturday carries a distinct theme, with the first week, scheduled for tomorrow (Feb 3), focusing on “Architectural Heritage.”
This week’s events delve into the significant architectural landmarks that shaped the city’s development, exploring their impact within the urban context and emphasising their lasting influence on residents’ collective memory.
Programme
The programme for tomorrow includes exploration and photography tours, the opening of the “Textile: Trade in Manama” exhibition, a showcase of folk arts by the Dar Al Badi Southern Band, and the Dot Café opening its doors on the balcony of the Postal Service Museum to welcome visitors throughout the event period.
For detailed event information, dates, and tour registrations, the public is encouraged to visit the website www.culture.gov.bh. Stay updated by following the BCA on social media at @CultureBah and the BTEA’s official Bahrain Calendar account at @Calendar.bh.
