His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain sent a cable to His Majesty King Charles III of the UK, wishing him a speedy recovery, good health, and a prompt return to his royal duties.

This comes as the 75-year-old British Monarch has been diagnosed with a form of cancer and has begun treatment. He expressed hopes for the UK’s continued progress and development under King Charles III’s leadership, along with wishes for his good health, happiness, and overall well-being.

Emphasising the deep-rooted historical ties, robust partnership, and enduring bonds of friendship between Bahrain and the UK, HM King Hamad underscored the significance of the longstanding relationship shared by the two nations and their peoples.

King Charles III has been diagnosed with a form of cancer and has begun treatment, Buckingham Palace said yesterday. The palace says the cancer is not related to the king’s recent treatment for a benign prostate condition.

It did not say what form of cancer the 75-year-old monarch has. The palace said “a separate issue of concern was noted” during Charles’ treatment for an enlarged prostate last month. “Diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” it said.

“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties,” the palace said. “Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual.”
