Countdown begins for start of Ramadan

The Islamic world eagerly awaits the arrival of this year’s Holy Month of Ramadan, as the countdown begins. According to astronomical predictions, Ramadan is scheduled to start on Monday, March 11, and will last for 30 days.
Based on astronomical calculations, the last day of Ramadan will fall on Tuesday, April 9, marking the 30th day of fasting. The following day, Wednesday, April 10, will mark the beginning of the month of Shawwal and the joyous celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
However, it’s important to note that these dates are subject to the sighting of the crescent moon, which signals the beginning of each Hijri month. The expected fasting hours for this year vary based on latitude.
Countries located closer to the North Pole will experience longer fasting hours, while those further south from the equator will have shorter days In the Arab region, including Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Turkey, and Iran, the first day of Ramadan is expected to have slightly over 13 fasting hours, with slight discrepancies among countries.
