Even as the Formula 1 weekend kicked off yesterday, fans are eagerly awaiting the 57-lap grand prix scheduled for tomorrow. Beyond the thrilling competition, the festivities, including concerts and games, stand out as key attractions of the F1 experience.

German record producer and Grammy Award-winning artist Zedd is set to electrify the stage with his diverse music genres, spanning EDM, pop, rock, and classical tunes, this evening. Meanwhile, tomorrow, post-race, American DJ and music producer Diplo, a 13-time Grammy nominee, will treat audiences to his signature eclectic beats.

Both concerts are accessible to all Formula 1 ticket holders, offering attendees a unique blend of entertainment. For Diplo, whose global tours have enthralled audiences worldwide, this marks his inaugural live performance in Bahrain, setting the ambiance for the opening round of the 2024 FIA F1 World Championship.

Zedd, renowned for his chart-topping hit “Clarity” released in 2012, promises to captivate Bahraini fans with his Grammy-winning track “Stay The Night” featuring Hayley Williams. This year’s F1 theme, “20 Years of a Modern Classic,” commemorates Bahrain’s 20th anniversary in F1, adding a celebratory dimension to the event.

Among the enthusiastic attendees are young fans Sayf Shehadeh, Kareem Al Dajani, and Yousif Al Aali, eagerly awaiting Diplo’s performance. “My favourite race car driver is Lewis Hamilton, I also can’t believe Diplo is going to play live in Bahrain I am excited to see him play,” Shehadeh said.

Reflecting the diverse fanbase, British expat Tamar Leek, known as Bahrain Barbie, anticipates the concerts alongside her role as a performer at the F1 Paddock. “I’ve been living in Bahrain for six years now and every time I attend the F1 weekend I have the best time and it’s great to see how the spectacular weekend is improved year by year, I am also a singer so it’s great to see big artists coming to Bahrain,” Leek said.

Leek praises Bahrain’s ongoing enhancements to the F1 weekend, a sentiment echoed by Abdulla Alkhan, who travels from Saudi Arabia annually for the event. Alkhan highlights the race’s ability to foster friendships and praises Bahrain’s top-tier event organization.

“I attend F1 in Bahrain every year with my friends who I met in Bahrain, it’s great to see how Bahrain has organized a spectacular race with events going on outside of BIC as well, the performers are top tier,” Alkhan said.
