HM King Hamad hails BDF’s bravery, dedication and sacrifice

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, praised the bravery and dedication of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), expressing confidence in their abilities, and paying tribute to their sacrifices and heroic actions in safeguarding the nation’s security and defending its borders.

This came as HM the King delivered a royal speech as he patronised the closing ceremony of the annual King’s Cup Shooting Contest and the Tug-of-War Championship for military units, as part of the celebrations marking the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty’s reign.

A Royal Decree was issued by His Majesty, promoting two non-commissioned officers from the Royal Guard to the rank of Lieutenant, and awarding them the Military Gallantry Medal in recognition of their bravery and dedication during their national duty. His Majesty awarded trophies to the units that won first place in the competitions.

He also presented the King’s Trophy for Sporting Excellence for the year 2023-2024 to Lieutenant-General Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander. The Director of the Military Sports Federation then presented commemorative gifts to HM King Hamad and the BDF Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
