Al Hilal Healthcare Group successfully saved the life of a seven-month-old female infant by removing a foreign object embedded beneath her skin demonstrating their commitment to patient care.

The incident unfolded when the infant, with a history of sensing an abnormal object, was brought to Al Hilal Muharraq and consulted by Dr. Goutham A. Shivananda, a specialist paediatrician.

Upon examination, the medical team, led by Dr. Shivananda and assisted by Dr. Muhammed Salim P.U., discovered a broken syringe needle measuring approximately 3.5 centimetres lodged in the subcutaneous layer on the mons pubis.

The needle was promptly removed under local anaesthesia, ensuring the infant’s safety. Following the successful surgical intervention, the infant was discharged from the hospital, bringing immense joy and pride to the entire Al Hilal team and the infant’s parents.

An official stated that in addition to emergency interventions like this, Al Hilal Healthcare Group offers comprehensive surgical consultation and care across various subspecialties.

These include colon and rectal surgery, trauma and burn care, endocrine surgery, bariatric surgery, and multidisciplinary hepatobiliary pancreas surgery. The skilled surgeons at Al Hilal are fellowship-trained in their respective specialties, establishing them as leaders in their fields.
