MP Al-Dhaen highlights Bahraini women’s progress on International Women’s Day

In a stirring address on the eve of International Women’s Day, MP Maryam AlDhaen lauded the remarkable strides taken by Bahraini women, propelling them beyond mere empowerment to substantial progress on both national and global scales.
Al-Dhaen attributed these achievements to the astute leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the unwavering support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
She extended heartfelt congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, recognizing her pivotal role in advancing women’s causes as President of the Supreme Council for Women.
Under the theme ‘Investing in Women to Accelerate the Pace of Progress’, Al-Dhaen emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain’s transition from empowerment to tangible progress. She underscored the instrumental role played by the Supreme Council for Women in enhancing women’s participation in nation-building endeavours.
Highlighting key statistics, Al-Dhaen noted the significant representation of women in Bahrain’s legislative and executive branches, as well as their increasing presence in both public and private sector leadership roles.
She underscored Bahraini women’s contributions to various fields, including judiciary, law, and workforce participation, stressing the nation’s commitment to gender equality and equal opportunities. Al-Dhaen’s remarks underscored Bahrain’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society where women stand as equal partners in the nation’s journey towards development and prosperity.
