The Bahrain High Appeals Court has sentenced a defendant to three months in prison for causing his ex-wife's disability after a heated argument.
The victim's sister witnessed the altercation, which escalated into physical violence. The defendant continued to assault the victim, striking her head and pushing her against a wall.
The victim's teeth were broken, and she suffered facial injuries, resulting in a 1% permanent disability. The court analysed the evidence and testimonies during the trial, leading to the defendant's conviction.
The severity of the assault and the resulting disability were considered during sentencing, and the court's decision to impose a three-month prison term reflects the gravity of the offence.
