The Shura Council’s Services Committee Chairman, Dr. Ibtisam Mohammed Saleh Al-Dallal, addressed inquiries to the Minister of Tourism, Her Excellency Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Sayrafi, regarding the Ministry’s strategic initiatives to bolster the tourism sector, including medical tourism, in the Kingdom.
The questioning underscored the Shura Council’s commitment to overseeing the nation’s development initiatives. Dr. Al-Dallal’s inquiry focused on the Ministry’s comprehensive plan to elevate Bahrain’s status as a premier tourist destination amidst regional competition.
Central to the discussion was the Ministry’s blueprint for advancing medical tourism and its collaborative efforts with relevant stakeholders to strategise and execute this vision. Of particular interest was Dr. Al-Dallal’s query concerning the specific measures being undertaken by the Ministry to position Bahrain as a hub for medical tourism.
This inquiry emphasized the importance of tourism in bolstering the national economy, particularly in light of the implementation of Health Insurance Law No. (23) of 2018.
