The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence has reaffirmed its staunch commitment to condemning racial discrimination in all its forms and rejecting rhetoric that fuels intolerance and hatred.

This was emphasised by Centre chairman Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla highlighted the significance of ‘The Kingdom of Bahrain Declaration’, aligning with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, aimed at fostering cultural and religious harmony while emphasising justice, equality, and unity irrespective of backgrounds.

Speaking on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla expressed grave concern over the prevalent global presence of racism, particularly directed towards refugees and ethnicities.

He warned against the systemic justification of violence and hostility, noting its evolution into a widespread issue rather than isolated incidents. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla underscored the devastating consequences of racism, stressing its detrimental impact on peace, stability, and fundamental human values.

He highlighted Bahrain’s dedication to upholding human rights and combating discrimination through comprehensive national legislation, including the establishment of committees to combat hatred and sectarianism. Commending the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla emphasised the promotion of fairness, tolerance, and respect to combat all forms of intolerance.
