When emergencies strike, immediate medical support can mean the difference between life and death. While fully equipped emergency medical teams are crucial during large events, exhibitions, and sporting activities, knowing basic first aid can make a critical difference before paramedics arrive.
The Bahrain Paramedic Academy plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Bahrain’s citizens and residents.
Established in 2015, the academy has trained over 400 people through first aid classes for students and volunteers. From 2015 to 2024, the academy has supported over a thousand events, with a primary focus on training employees from companies, universities, and other organizations.
Their free consultation services are readily available, further promoting public awareness of basic medical procedures.
Team of experts
The academy boasts a dedicated team of 12 doctors and 20 nurses who work tirelessly to provide comprehensive training.
Their expertise extends to a wide range of events, including sporting competitions, concerts, and other special gatherings. “We are committed to treating the people,” stated Yasmin Mufeed, Director of the Public Relations Committee, speaking to The Daily Tribune.
“Training and sharing knowledge of basic medical requirements in an emergency can be useful for everyone in Bahrain,” she added.
Workshops
The academy’s commitment extends beyond event support.
They have conducted first aid workshops for doctors at the University of Bahrain, along with collaborating with the Ministry of Health and the Human Resource Department to offer similar workshops for various organizations.
By equipping the community with essential first-aid knowledge and providing prompt medical assistance during emergencies, the Bahrain Paramedic Academy plays a vital role in safeguarding the lives of Bahrainis and residents alike.
