Mr. Abdul Aziz Al-Ashraf, Assistant Undersecretary for Control and Resources at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, has announced increased monitoring campaigns ahead of Eid Al-Fitr.

The campaigns target fruit and vegetable markets, beauty centers, salons, tailoring shops, bakeries, commercial complexes, and sales outlets, focusing on products in high demand during the festive period.

Al-Ashraf detailed the Ministry’s comprehensive action plan, spanning the lead-up to Ramadan, and Eid festivities. Field visits to stores and markets ensure the availability of essential goods, facilitating a smooth flow of products and addressing any potential disruptions promptly.

During inspections, adherence to licensed offers and discounts is verified, preventing exploitation of increased demand for misleading promotions. Price displays undergo scrutiny to prevent commercial fraud, with swift legal action taken against any detected violations.

Tightened controls

Al-Ashraf emphasized the importance of tightened controls to combat illegal commercial practices that undermine public interests.

He urged reporting of any violations via email to the Inspection Department (Inspection@moic.gov.bh) or through the National Suggestions and Complaints System “Tawasul,” or through WhatsApp 17111225, emphasizing community collaboration in maintaining market integrity.
