A significant step forward in Bahrain-US partnership

His Excellency US Ambassador Steven C. Bondy emphasised significant milestones in bilateral relations with Bahrain, notably the signing of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement between His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and US Secretary of State Blinken in September.

In his remarks at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel to mark the 248th anniversary of the United States’ independence, Ambassador Bondy said: “The United States is a nation that seeks to advance, improve, and innovate – striving to move forward. In reviewing developments over the past year in our relationship with Bahrain, I can say that together, we are on a journey of discovery, traveling farther than ever before. In a historic highlight, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister signed the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement in September with Secretary Blinken.”

He added: “Our two countries, standing together in multilateral coalitions, aim to protect the safe transit of maritime trade, reinforce freedom of navigation, and ensure ships carrying essential products can go about their business.

“We believe in a principled path as the only reasonable response to those who sow instability in the region and the world. The United States works with Bahrain, in friendship and respect, to reinforce the international rules-based order that supports peace and prosperity, our common values and interests, and our essential humanity.”

Guests from various sectors including ministers, government officials, diplomats, members of the National Assembly, business leaders, academics, journalists, and Bahraini citizens gathered to commemorate the important event, underscoring the enduring strength and promise of the US-Bahraini partnership.

Themed “A Road Trip Across America,” the event evoked the imagery and energy of the open American road, featuring iconic cars and motorcycles that have captivated generations of people around the world.
