The Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit, operating under the Bahrain General Administration of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, recently apprehended an individual involved in the illicit distribution of electronic cigarettes to minors.
This arrest came after reports surfaced of the suspect using social media platforms to lure children and peddle e-cigarettes containing potentially narcotic substances.
Acting swiftly upon a concerned parent's tip-off, the unit launched a thorough investigation, resulting in the identification and capture of the perpetrator red-handed while selling the banned products.
In response to this incident, the Unit urges parents to maintain vigilance, educate their children about online risks, and monitor their online activities closely to prevent exposure to harmful substances or legal issues.
By promoting awareness and cooperation, the Unit endeavors to safeguard children from various online threats.
