The Southern Municipal Council has approved several proposals to enhance public services and infrastructure in Bahrain's Southern Governorate. During its session this week, one of the key proposals approved was the establishment of a new seaport in the southern region to serve the residents of Riffa and nearby areas.

This initiative aims to improve maritime accessibility and boost economic activity in the region. In recognition of his contributions to the community, the council unanimously approved naming the street connecting Al Hunainiyah Avenue and Al Muaskar Highway after the prominent figure Abdullah bin Hamad Al Majid Al Nuaimi.

Additionally, the council unanimously approved the construction of a sidewalk on Road 36 in Block 746 in Aali to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents on the busy road.

Recognising the challenges in managing tree maintenance, the council unanimously approved assigning these tasks to the Southern Municipality’s cleaning company. This decision is expected to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and contribute to waste recycling and beautification efforts.
