The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has conducted an inspection campaign in Muharraq Governorate, resulting in the identification of 17 establishments engaged in the unauthorised activity of supplying domestic workers on an hourly basis without a license.
This operation was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Department of Criminal Investigations and Evidence, and Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA).
During the campaign, numerous violations of labour market laws and regulations were uncovered, including the employment of workers without proper permits and the maintenance of unnecessary work permits.
Several establishments were found to be operating as agencies supplying domestic workers without the required license from the LMRA.
A total of 41 irregular workers were apprehended for violating labour market regulations and laws, as well as provisions of the Labour Market Regulation Law and the Residence Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The violators were referred to the appropriate authorities for legal action.
