Bahrain Information Minister announces launching Creative Content Competition

Bahrain Information Minister H.E Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, announced the launch of a Creative Content Competition for production companies. The competition aims to develop and invest in Bahrain TV content across various genres.

The competition is part of the ministry's 'Creative Lab' initiatives, aiming to develop innovative media content, in line with national priorities and primarily targeting Bahraini citizens, in partnership with private sector production companies.

The minister highlighted the significant role of Bahraini production companies, driven by their creative talents and advanced production capabilities. He added that their high calibre has enabled them to present products that have been aired on Gulf and Arab satellite channels and have earned audience acclaim.

Dr. Al Noaimi said that the Creative Content Competition, a key initiative of the Creative Lab, aims to foster competitive opportunities for Bahraini production companies and support their creation of competitive content on regional and international levels. The competition will assess submissions for production and provide funding based on set criteria after evaluating the efficiency of their business models. 

The competition will consist of five main categories which are programmes, series, films, plays, and songs. Applications will be accepted from May 1 - June 15, via the Ministry of Information's website www.mia.gov.bh, according to specified criteria.

The Ministry of Information will financially support the winning projects in all five categories and provide additional technical assistance.

Each production company may submit up to two works per category in Arabic or English. All necessary information and details are required, with a deadline of June 15. A specialised committee will evaluate submissions, and the Ministry of Information will support winning projects with funding, investment, and technical support. Applicants must confirm ownership of all rights of their entries, with the Ministry acquiring intellectual property rights for winning projects.
