BTEA hosts 15 prominent international wedding organisers

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has organised an exclusive trip for 15 prominent wedding organisers from the United Kingdom, Romania, and several European countries.

This initiative underscores BTEA’s commitment to attracting more international wedding parties, enhancing Bahrain’s stature as a premier destination for hosting major celebrations. Her Excellency Sarah Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of BTEA, warmly welcomed the visiting delegation.

She emphasised that this introductory trip provides wedding planning companies and entities with a firsthand understanding of the Kingdom’s vibrant wedding sector.

It also offers a unique opportunity to showcase the Kingdom’s array of services related to weddings, including its exquisite venues, luxurious international hotels, and rich cultural heritage.

Mrs. Buhiji highlighted the Authority’s success in attracting 104 major wedding parties since 2017, with approximately 39,000 guests and visitors to the Kingdom.

She emphasised collaboration with private sector tourism establishments, such as hotels and resorts, to ensure seamless wedding experiences.

Gulf Air’s extensive flight network, serving 50 destinations worldwide with direct flights to London and Manchester, enhances accessibility for international guests.

Bahrain boasts a wealth of international hotels, advanced infrastructure, and specialised wedding and events companies.

Tourism development

It prioritises tourism development through initiatives like marine and sports tourism, beach enhancements, cultural events, and streamlined visa procedures.

With 75 four- and five-star hotels, Bahrain offers unparalleled hospitality and safety, earning recognition as the “Best International Wedding Destination for 2020” by Travel and Leisure and the “Best Tourist Destination for Indian Weddings” at the Wow Asia Awards 2019.
