The High Labour Court has ruled in favour of a football coach, ordering a Premier League club to pay him his outstanding dues amounting to BD5,000 along with interest.
The court also dismissed the coach’s claim against the General Sports Authority to be jointly liable for the payment.
The coach had filed a lawsuit against the club demanding payment of his salary arrears from December 2021 until the end of his contract in April 2022.
He also sought compensation for late salary payments, annual leave allowance, and a service certificate.
The club argued that the coach’s claim was time-barred as he had filed the lawsuit a year after the termination of their contract.
