Bahrain embraces environmental innovation

It is important to implement environmental principles, promoting studies, creativity, and innovation in the green economy, and utilising environmentally friendly technologies to advance Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This was emphasised by the Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, as he delivered a keynote speech at the 21st Annual Middle East and North Africa Conference, held under the theme “Pathways to Prosperity”, at the London Business School.

In his remarks, the minister affirmed the significance of implementing environmental principles, promoting studies, creativity, and innovation in the green economy, and utilising environmentally friendly technologies to advance Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dr. Bin Daina underscored the need for oil-producing countries to collaborate and coordinate efforts to enhance energy security.

Renewable energy sources Additionally, he emphasised the importance of focusing on renewable energy sources, investing in research and development, and training to improve energy efficiency practices.

The minister commended the private sector for its role in bolstering national and international efforts to protect the environment while striving to achieve developmental and economic objectives.

The conference featured over 40 speakers, including ministers, CEOs, entrepreneurs, and business leaders. It attracted more than 800 participants from various backgrounds, such as business leaders, diplomats, and academics.
